R U NUTS ???
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Counter-intuitive hexagonal blueprint hell. Made for Love2D Jam 2026.
Navigate a nut through a blueprint maze, avoiding traps and other hazards. All from a nut's perspective. This is nuts, right?
Inspired by ideas from my older games and amazing And Yet It Moves.
# Limitations
Game is in playable state and all levels can be completed, but due to time constraints, some planned features had to be cut. I've also isolated two levels that I wasn't able to properly test before the jam ended, so they are not included in the main game. They can be accessed from the bonus menu, but finishing the second one will crash the game. Take it as a mind crashing outro. Game runs in fixed 1600x900 window, and there is no option to change it without modifying the source code, sorry.
# Development
Game was made in about 4 days with very on and off development. All five assets were made by me in Inkscape, everything else is rendered using primitives. Levels were designed in my older level editor, which turned out to be especially buggy for this use case. Music and sounds, if you want to call them that, were recorded and processed in Audacity. Feel free to check out the source code but it's a bit of a mess.
# Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Left / A | Roll the nut (left) |
| Right / D | Roll the nut (right) |
| P | Pause / unpause |
| Space | Change the gravity direction |
| R or ESC | Restart current level |
Restarting of the level is very useful when you yeet your self outside of the map :)
